Another 'sketch' from the creative process for my ongoing cyberpunk-ish project. The vertiginous face of the data construct extended in all directions to the horizon, giving Haines the feeling of being an insignificant speck in the face of the infinite. She floated closer, coming to gently rest against the surface of a universe of data and her perspective flipped; she stood on an endless flat plain. There were no landmarks, no variation in terrain and if she bothered to measure the flatness of the surface it would be perfectly flat. Wasn’t there some story of an ancient world artist who drew a perfect circle freehand? Something of a statement to achieve that. The ticking of the digital clock in the peripheral of her field of view reminded her to get back to work, leave the musings for another time. Accessing her ready memory she started executing the pre-loaded batch of smart frames. In terms of the aesthetic function of the neural interface her avatar, a chrome elfin figure, weaved her hands in mystic gestures, pulling light and energy from thin air to sculpt into shapes. Various creatures, some real and some imaginary, were shaped and formed, then granted a final touch that brought them to life, scurrying off into the distance or patrolling around Haines. “Let’s make some money,” she grinned to herself. I stand in void, Shaped from shadow, Movement stilled, Breathing shallow. Ink stained Hand of velvet, Lovingly caressed, Trailing regret. Company, sans Companionship Exhausted thoughts Failing to re-equip Nothing to be gained, No loss, mi Amor, Heart’s too fatigued, To love anymore. Cherished Nod, Lay me to rest! Slim solace found, For mind’s unrest. https://www.minds.com/horuslvx/blog/thoughts-in-the-night-a-poem-1218543534739615744?referrer=horuslvx
