[Modified from a comment made on a related post] We see an ever increasing push for people to post their pronouns everyehere, lead by trans activists. They tell us that it is a form of violence to misgender peoole. That you never know who is trans or not otherwise; that just because someone LOOKS male doesn't mean they are. There's a big issue with that. Even at one of the most liberal estimates, the trans community only makes up 1% of the global population. I've seen that claim including all the "i'm straight and cis but want to be special" identifiers. More grounded estimates place true trans people at only a third of that, around 0.3% upper range. If 99% of the population at the lowest, and 99.7% most likely, consider their sex and gender identity to coincide, and that their physical bodies reflect this, why is it that it isn't just trans people pointing it out when needed? Why are so many others doing it too? In my mind, it cones down to the idea that universal display of pronouns isn't a helpful tool for trans people, rather it is a badge of memberahip to a specific ideology. As of right now there are several fringe ideologies that have found common ground and joined under one banner in order to bolster their political power, as each is too small to make an impact on its own. Far left progressivism is the only 'major' ideology that embraces this pronoun farce and enforces it. I look at the display of pronouns, espevially among gender conforming cis people of that ideological umbrella the sane way I do a swastika armband, hungry hammer flag, NRA bumper sticker, a cross necklace, etc. You know what a Nazi believes to be true and ideal. Their ideology is well known. Their enemies have been declared, their thoughts of what virtue and goodness are have been fully declared. When you see someone unironically in Nazi symbology, you know what they value snd hold true, because they are broadcasting this plainly by declaring ideological membership. Plastering your pronouns all over is no different. It is putting your membership and adherence to an ideology out for all to see, so they all know "I am part of the leftist social justice movement." You are broadcasting what you believe with one simple act. When people point out pronouns in the bio during online argumrnts, the leftists like to cry that it is an ad hominem attack; pointing out an irrelevant detail to disniss what ever they're saying. Or they also like to say thay you're "triggered" over what pronouns they use, because you're close minded and simple, that things you don't understand scare you. But that's not the case. People that point that factor out are not saying "You call yourself a Xir, you can't make a valid point", but rather "I see your very public, loud, proud, admission of membership to this very specific political ideology. By doing that, you're telling me you hold several ideas to be absolute truth and oppose alternative ideas. That you will dismiss any argument against you. You wouls not be allowed admission to that ideology otherwise.I think those ideals are retarded and wrong, and that arguing with you is a waste of time." The problem is that this ideological 'war' over pronouns takes place *mostly* on a platform where you're limited to 280 character responses, and snappy replies are the only one that get seen. No one'a going through 3 tweets just to read a point they vehemently disagree with. So that detailed explanation gets boiled down to "you have pronouns in your bio, shut up."
