we look up at the night sky and are greeted with space. the moon, the sun, and the stars. comets and meteors and black holes. even other planets. but then we look forward and see our world. the world we exist in. the world we're a part of. its so odd to consider how our souls ended up on this particular planet out of every possibility in the cosmos.
like, its one thing to leave your house. but leaving your planet? thats just crazy. like leaving a bigger home. a home youre familiar with, yknow? scary to think about, being launched into space, unsure of where youre going or if youre even gonna end up anywhere. gazing upon the earth as it slowly but surely slips away from you with every passing moment, memories of home rushing through your mind.
the great unknown is something i think we all fear, since we all do not understand it, and have never even considered making a home out of it.
