Raising the minimum wage will help very few people. Workers are generally paid according to their value to the business. If a business doesn't want to lose an employee, they will give them a raise so they can keep them and not lose them to their competitors. If you raise the minimum wage, most of the people who earn less than that amount now will lose their jobs. Instead of having a low wage, they will have no wage and be dependent on the government for their very existence (which makes them easier to control which may be the point). A business can't pay people more than they are worth. What they also don't understand is that most people only make minimum wage as a starting wage when they are unskilled and unproven. If they do a decent job, they will get higher pay. If you take away low paying jobs, unskilled workers can't get their first job so they can get job experience which would allow them to work to higher paying jobs. This is especially true of minorities, especially black, urban males. There are very few people who stay being paid minimum wage. Those that do either have a disability, are not willing to work hard and do what they were hired to do, or they are people who have embraced the victim mentality and never work to improve themselves, but always blame others for their failures. For anyone willing to work hard and work to improve themselves, minimum wage should only be a brief stepping stone to something better. Most of these people are kids or people barely out of high school. https://www.breitbart.com/clips/2021/02/21/dem-rep-khanna-we-dont-want-small-businesses-that-cant-afford-15-minimum-wage/
