Repurposing drugs refers to the application of drugs that have well known mechanisms, interactions, and contraindications for treatment of emerging disease patterns. However, without funded research, the success of a treatment (regardless of positive clinical outcomes) is considered "anecdotal" and unacceptable. In other words, if it's not supported by money to make money then a doctor can't use it regardless of if it saves lives. #medicine
