The worst part about adulthood is that your nightmares tend to be about shit like forgetting to pay your bills/rent/insurance on time, so it takes longer after waking up to assure yourself that yes, it was just a dream (as opposed to when you're a kid and it's very easy to determine that your neighborhood is not actually being destroyed by kaiju).
