Writing community, tell me about the originating idea that became your current WIP. What was the inspiration behind it? Where did it all start, even if the project no longer resembles this initial inspiration? (Art by Raphael Lacoste.)

Writing community, share one of your favorite single sentences from one of your fiction projects, specifically one of the ones you think has the best flow, rhythm, or sound, and makes best use of the language, irrespective of its significance within the story. (Art by Marta Nael.)

@ottman I think there's a bug where people can't view Minds+ blog post text. I just tried posting a blog and monetizing it and others can't see the text, and someone else is having this issue too. Do you know what's up? Edit: I have a hypothesis that this could have to do with a user permission issue regarding seeing the text. Edit 2: I'll comment with what I see versus what someone else sees with the blog post. Edit 3: Looks like (as per @twicesix testing) that non-monetized blogs show text but monetized blogs don't show text.

Writing community, how do you structure your long-form storytelling? Do you break it into acts, parts, chapters, or scenes, or does it all flow one moment to the next without any clean breaks? If you use hard breaks of any kind, do you name the sections, number them, or just throw in a divider? How do you indicate passage of time between sections, and how do you indicate a perspective switch? (Art by Alex Polgár.)
