For those out there who claim that FDR “ended” the Great Depression, I recommend that you to look up what Treasury Secretary Morgenthau, a New Deal architect and FDR loyalist, told Congress in 1939. He knew the real unemployment rate, which was not reflected in official US government stats. In 1939, the real unemployment rate was as bad as it was in 1933.
The New Deal was so “great” that it’s main architect, who was FDR's right-hand man and America's treasury secretary, admitted to Congress that it was a total failure, after watching it flop for 8 years. Let that sink in.
