Artist Guy Dessapt Guy Dessapt was born on 6th of July 1938 in Central France. As a child, Guy showed an enthusiastic aptitude for painting which led him to the highly acclaimed Art Decoratifs School in Paris. Here he learned about the masters of genre and grew to respect the Impressionists of the 1800’s. At this time, Guy spent many days painting in the streets of Montmartre which provided him with direct exposure to a thriving arts community. He began painting his favorite subjects from cities and countrysides around Europe, which would later become his trademark expression. The themes emanating from Dessapt’s lifelong passion for travel are depicted through the merging of both visual experience with a uniquely striking impressionist style. #art #painting #contemporary #landscape

Artist Gustave Jean Jacquet Gustave Jean Jacquet was painter of portraits, genre and watercolours. Born in Paris on 25 May 1846 Jacquet lived and worked in Paris. Jacquet was a pupil of Bouguereau and so admiring was he of his tutor that he never sought any other. Consequently, Jacquet's early work was influenced by that of Bouguereau. In 1865, Jacquet made his debut at the Salon with an allegory entitled La Rêverie. The following year he submitted paintings detailing life in the 16th, 17th and 18th Century which were small in dimension. At the same time he began to paint portraits and he sometimes put his subjects in the period costume of the 16th Century as a caprice. Jacquet also painted portraits of children and genre scenes.
