There's this new argument that the democrats and liberals "aren't left-wing". This has come up only within the last two years, and is pretty much scapegoating. Communists/anarchists will say that they are at the low end, center-left, and at worst, center-RIGHT. Even if you discount left/right on the political compass, this is retarded. There is very little difference between a communist/anarchist and a liberal. Assuming, for the sake of argument, that the communist/anarchist is not being hypocritical, and neither is the liberal: The major difference they cite is the economic divide between capitalism/not capitalism. That difference might as well mean fuck all, because let's face it, for the communist/anarchist "capitalism" is but a concept to scapegoat for the downward spiral of society. The communist/anarchist isn't going to change society at large, the neoliberal ruling class makes too much money using it. The second major difference they cite is a focus on class for the communist/anarchist vs race/gender for the liberal. However, one step down from class to western communists/anarchists is race and gender, much like with the liberal. Liberals also believe in uplifting the poor through expanding the welfare state, but that's a step down from race/gender. The only difference here is prioritization, and then too, not by much. A communist/anarchist doesn't disagree with liberals much at all, the desire to distance themselves from liberalism is because liberals are the ruling class, wielding social and governmental authority. A communist/anarchist is nothing without something to fight against. In fact, the two agree very closely on the oppression hierarchies for minorities, LGBT, women, etc. The liberal's opposition to communism is weak at best, and mostly because they haven't thought much about economics. Liberals are the first line of defense for communists/anarchists, because they sit there and make excuses for Antifa/BLM, far left organizations. They also believe themselves left wing and despise the right, much like communist/anarchists. So this "excommunication" of liberals from The Left occurs only in far left circles, and only because of the same ideological purity spiral that liberals constantly go through. This is why I say "leftists" are only liberals in red paint, and all of these groups are practically the same.
