**Daniel 9:24 to 27 the 70 7s or the 490 Day Period Before the Great Tribulation Begins** Dr Paul MacDonald RN MA Dipl **Daniel 9:24-27** There are no 70 Weeks of Years (with breaks in between), there are only **70 Weeks of Years** **made up of Days**. **There is** **no 7 Year Tribulation Period**, only the Great Tribulation Period of **3.5 Years** (**1260 Days** or **42 Months**). This vision of the **70 7s** is **not Messianic**, but **a Vision for Appointed Time of the End** (**Daniel 8:15**). These **70 7s** (**490 Days**) is the **16 Month Period** prior to the Great Tribulation Period beginning. Other references made to days (**Daniel 7:25**, **12:7**, **11-12**, **Revelation 11:2-3**, **6**, **14**, **13:5**), namely **1260 days**, **1290**, and **1135**, and in **Revelation** it is **42 Months** (**1260 days**). **Daniel 9:24-27** is one vision in **4 parts**, with each part following on directly from that of the other. **1)** **Daniel 9:24** **the 70 7s (490 Days explained to Daniel)** **2)** **Daniel 9:25** Decree goes forward to rebuild Jerusalem and the Temple; it is **NOT stated who calls out this decree**. From the rebuilding of Jerusalem and the Temple (**until** an Anointed One) there will be **i**) **7 Weeks** (**49 Days**) and **ii**) **62 Weeks** (**434 Days**). The Anointed One in the Passage is **not (Christ the Messiah) THE Anointed One**. The Temple will be built in the straits (fashion) of the times, as well as in very troublesome times. Until denotes that the Anointed One is coming at end of the **62 Weeks** (**434 Days**) Period. **3)** **Daniel 9:26** After the **62 Weeks** (**434 Days**) the Anointed one in **Daniel 9:25** comes to his end without having achieved anything. This Anointed One could be the **2nd King of the North/Assyria/Babylon** who will **come to his end only** **after a few days** **in office** (**Daniel 11:20**). **THEN** the People (**Assyrians**) of a Prince who is coming will enter Israel and destroy Jerusalem and the Temple. This is the **Despicable Person** of (**Daniel 11:21**) upon whom **no Kingship has been bestowed**, and **who will be made strong by help of a few people** (**Daniel 11:23**), by those who have gotten rid of the **King of the South/Egypt** (**Daniel 11:26**). **War then continues until the consummation of all things**, until the indignation has come to its end. **4)** **Daniel 9:27** He (the Prince) who has already began his invasion of Israel, he will then make a Covenant for Many for a Week (**7 Days**), but he **will break his Covenant Mid Week**, and will then continue on with his **campaign** and **onslaught** to destroy Israel and the Jews **until** **his** **own End** (which comes as a Flood), the Prince comes to his end, the one that is causing the Desolation. The **Daniel 9:24-27** Passage is clearly **not Messianic**, but as we can see, it concerns events that cover **the 16 Month Period** **before** **the Great Tribulation Begins**. The 70 Weeks of Years Teaching, like the Pre Tribulation Rapture teaching, it is a **False Teaching** and one that is inspired by Demons. **Paul MacDonald RN RMN MA Dipl** :copyright: Israel Institute of Biblical Studies
