Writing community, tell me about some of the little details you put into scenes or into the possession of characters in your fiction to flesh them out.
Ideally, I want to hear about the ones that have no purpose in the plot except to set the scene and mood or to character-build their owner - the items which seem like minor details when introduced but become intensely plot-relevant later don't count.
