Interesting that Russell Tovey says his dad wanted him to have hormone treatment when he came out as a teen. GIDS had many homophobic parents wanting the same for their gay children, but it’s ‘transphobic’ to try and help these poor kids.

Johnny Depp has been given the right to appeal his verdict and go through the mistakes the libel judge made (which were many). When I was on Twitter it was almost impossible to talk about this with GC women as they all supported Amber Heard and wouldn’t hear anything against her. I was furious she had used domestic abuse to try and ruin a man, it is wicked on many levels, including making light of domestic abuse and using it for your own agenda. I was talking to one of the anonymous feminist lawyer accounts who said Depp wouldn’t get an appeal as the judge had done a solid job. She wouldn't listen to me about the mistakes made. Maybe Depp won’t get his case overturned, but it will be a chance to highlight the many times the judge ignored evidence and literally got things wrong (ie he said Amber can’t possibly be a gold-digger as she donated her $7m divorce settlement to charity when they proved she hadn’t, and he said she feared for her life when she admitted on tape physical abuse to Depp whilst Depp denied it to her.) I get that some feminists absolutely refuse to see any claim from women of abuse as anything other than that, and there’s a real problem in society with victim blaming women, but how could any lawyer not see these problems? How can a judge conclude the person who had every past partner declare for the court he had not been abusive is the abuser, whilst the one who’s had two past partners call the police on them for hitting them is the abused party? Even in the video Amber took that was used in court where Depp is slamming kitchen cupboards in anger she sounds smug not scared. Wtf is wrong with that judge, and how much of personal politics/emotions goes in to judges and lawyers assessments of the law? I’m no huge Depp fan, and I’m a feminist but I wouldn’t agree with the judge or the feminist lawyer I spoke with on Twitter.
