Not a single video goes by where I don't see dozens of comments from people telling me they haven't seen my content. Many thinking I've quit or left Youtube completely. I also get daily messages from people telling me they've been unsubscribed from my channel without their knowledge or consent. According to Youtube analytics only 13% of my audience has "all notifications" turned on for my channel and only 7% of my audience has "all notifications" turned on for my channel AND enabled Youtube notifications. This is quite important. If you have notifications turned on for a channel but have not enabled Youtube notifications, the odds of you receiving notifications is going to be less. Why Youtube feels the need to have both of these as options I don't know. If I turn on notifications for a channel, then I want to see notifications about that channel! I shouldn't have to super-double subscribe to notifications in order to see them by then also having to turn on youtube notifications for the channel I just enabled notification from! It's kind of like "the bell". Subscribing isn't enough anymore, you have to hit that bell icon to make sure you're double subscribed so you will actually see when the channel does something. Given that view counts on my content often seems to be around 10% of my subscriber count these days. Also around 80-90% of my views come from people who are subscribed to me, as opposed to a few years ago when it was only around 30% subscribers watching my content, which proves Youtube is algorithmically hiding my content from suggestion in order to reduce my total traffic by around 70%. It really does seem like Youtube is just straight up hiding my content unless you have every single notification turned on, are subscribed, belled, have sacrificed a duck under the moonlight while praying to the internet Goddess Wojcicki etc. Take the time to turn on notifications to channels you want to see AND enable Youtube notifications to ensure you actually get them.
