'Member how many years ago I created a second "back up" Youtube channel, as was the style at the time, in the event that the main channel got nuked from orbit by the powers that be? Well, I've decided to run an experiment. The back up channel has been rebranded as the official "I Can't Even News" channel and will now be hosting all 'I Can't Even News' videos from now on. Episode 3 will still appear on the main channel with description box information informing people of the change. The reasoning behind this is several fold. Firstly; The TL;DR channel is quite obviously shadow banned by Youtube as I've demonstrated using analytical data over the past several months. Several users have confirmed this via their own testimony as subscribers and several content creators have also confirmed that shadow banning is in effect by sharing their own analytic data and revealing the same rapid and random drop offs in things like views, subscribers and engagement. This is all in spite of constant growth on every other social media platform used. All this taken together indicates one very clear thing. Youtube as a platform is the problem. With this in mind, starting afresh gives an opportunity to experiment and see if growth is possible on Youtube with a fresh channel, fresh account, fresh e-mail etc. Basically no link whatsoever to my existing Youtube/Google information. There will also more than likely be alternative media accounts for 'I Can't Even News' in the future but as with all things, this takes time and it needs to be seen if there is enough interest to justify that. Secondly; 'I Can't Even News' is a radical departure from the content produced on the TL;DR channel. While most who congregate here understand my style of humour, it is not for everyone and I think having that sort of content separate from content that focuses more on studies, surveys, books etc. will help people better find the kind of content they want. One place for one type, one place for the other. Thirdly; Somewhat a hypothetical "in the future" sort of thinking. I've considered opening up the concept of 'I Can't Even News' to a wider array of content creators. I am not the only one who creates news parody/satire and the possibility of using 'I Can't Even News' as a hub for other creators to get more exposure is interesting to me. Although this is a very long way away as an idea and more a "wouldn't it be nice if" sort of thing. Thank you for your time and I shall see you over on the new(ish) 'I Can't Even News' channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeOO2g0AMGhhsDKchmsLv0A

More from TL;DR

Not a single video goes by where I don't see dozens of comments from people telling me they haven't seen my content. Many thinking I've quit or left Youtube completely. I also get daily messages from people telling me they've been unsubscribed from my channel without their knowledge or consent. According to Youtube analytics only 13% of my audience has "all notifications" turned on for my channel and only 7% of my audience has "all notifications" turned on for my channel AND enabled Youtube notifications. This is quite important. If you have notifications turned on for a channel but have not enabled Youtube notifications, the odds of you receiving notifications is going to be less. Why Youtube feels the need to have both of these as options I don't know. If I turn on notifications for a channel, then I want to see notifications about that channel! I shouldn't have to super-double subscribe to notifications in order to see them by then also having to turn on youtube notifications for the channel I just enabled notification from! It's kind of like "the bell". Subscribing isn't enough anymore, you have to hit that bell icon to make sure you're double subscribed so you will actually see when the channel does something. Given that view counts on my content often seems to be around 10% of my subscriber count these days. Also around 80-90% of my views come from people who are subscribed to me, as opposed to a few years ago when it was only around 30% subscribers watching my content, which proves Youtube is algorithmically hiding my content from suggestion in order to reduce my total traffic by around 70%. It really does seem like Youtube is just straight up hiding my content unless you have every single notification turned on, are subscribed, belled, have sacrificed a duck under the moonlight while praying to the internet Goddess Wojcicki etc. Take the time to turn on notifications to channels you want to see AND enable Youtube notifications to ensure you actually get them.
