A teenage girl who was one of the seven people shot Jan. 9 by a gunman later killed by Evanston police died Tuesday, officials said.
The coroner's office ruled the deaths of Gabriel Phillips, 1, and Ahmir Phillips, 5, as homicides, and the cause of deaths was multiple gunshot wounds.
“The numbers are quite shocking,” says Eric Ward, a civil rights strategist with the Western States Center.
