Red Crossbill, Sam Houston National Forest, Montgomery Co., TX, 2/5/21. Note the strange bill, which it uses to pry seeds from pine cones. It's a very rare visitor to southeast Texas, but several have been present at this site for the last few days. This one was singing, so possibly an immature male. #myphoto #birds #birding
