Two major sins of academia right now are as follows: 1) oversimplifying the complex. 2) overcomplicating the simple. A big example of 2 is seen in regards to racism. That one can't know what they're talking about if they haven't read the right books, papers, attended lectures, etc. In reality, racism is an extremely simple concept, as it is born from ignorance. Overcomplication is required to fool people into believing that CRT's racial scapegoating "isn't really racism", and that the bringing back of segregation is somehow "empowering".
