A spiritual poem. How do I see beyond the walls of my mind? I feel like a caged bird with only memories of flight. Yet, I hear the chipping away of thoughts And see the scattered debris of wisdom's ancient ties And in the distance is a familiar chord of my youth Haunting me, drawing me ever nearer to its truth. And in the very stillness of my heart, It quivers the strings of my soul As if to remind me of some beautiful symphony I know But only brief, these moments of stillness, For the familiar chord is mottled by metallic screams and cluttered minds. And only when I am drowning by the blows of jagged noise Does the hand of a familiar stranger draw me up and into the Peace of his Blue eyes... And once more my heart is still. And the strings of my soul quiver to a resonating sound of some beautiful symphony And I stumble once again on the scattered debris of wisdom's ancient ties.... #poetry #myphoto #photography #spiritual #life

Are current times much different (other than our capacity to vaporize the earth and ourselves) than the past? "Opinion has caused more trouble on this little earth than plagues or earthquakes." ~Voltaire I find older quotes so interesting in that we are still dealing with the same problems. We tend to think that we are wiser than the past, but that's just not true. I don't think we've spent enough time learning about ourselves or we wouldn't keep cycling through the same human challenges and problems. MAYBE we need to spend more time trying to figure ourselves out? You know, before we mindlessly embrace transhumanism, deadlier weapons or spread our problems across the universe. Emotional and spiritual IQ are also relevant factors in an advanced civilization....lest we end up looking like one of these little characters LOL Oops.....you just know we're heading in this direction. I half kid....but it's on the table.
