I'd like to say this "vaccine passport" tyranny won't take off as it would further damage industries such as travel, tourism and events due to push back and public outcry but most people will comply making it a viable option for governments. Anecdotally, the majority of people in my circles are all on board to go back to normal life by any means necessary. Getting a vaccine and an app seems like a small price to pay for them.
There's only so much the average citizen will actually do to defend their liberties. Sacrificing going on holiday overseas or simply going to the pub with your mates to make a political stand isn't realistic for the general public. This is the sad truth. Being a dissident requires motivation. The majority will accept their freedoms being stripped away so they can come and go as they please again and the rest of us that don't will be reduced to an underclass.
But remember: Just because you have your shiny new app that tells daddy government you've taken your medicine, doesn't mean he'll let you stay up late. The "new normal" might be here to stay whether you like it or not so don't get too excited just yet.
