Which raises the question: tech monopolies tell us they are entitled to censor speech because they are private companies, not the government. But what if they are censoring conservative speech at the behest of Democratic Party politicians? And what if those politicians have great power over whether Facebook remains ridiculously profitable on one hand, or is subjected to antitrust sanctions, including breakup, on the other? Are politicians like Elizabeth Warren and Sheldon Whitehouse shielded from scrutiny because they use private entities who have a stranglehold on communications to suppress their political opponents? --Climate Censorship Revealed [Updated] | Power Line --https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2021/01/climate-censorship-revealed.php -RETRIEVED-Wed Jan 13 2021 02:10:00 GMT+0100 (Central European Standard Time)

Capitol Hill “Coup” Antagonist is Radical Climate Change Activist. Jake Angeli – recently charged with “violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds” by the Department of Justice – has previously participated in climate change protests despite the mainstream media depicting him as a fervent Trump supporter. AZCentral described Angeli as one of “hundreds march[ing] in Arizona in solidarity with climate strikes around the world” in September of 2019. The article’s collection of pictures contains a total of three actions shots of Angeli protesting the issue captured by two separate photographers. The images of Angeli passionate participation in the protest are accompanied by the following captions, which describe him “leading the crowd in a yell” and “demanding action on climate change”: Jake Angeli, shamanic practitioner, leads the crowd in a yell before the march in solidarity with climate activism groups across the country to the Arizona State Capitol Building Friday, September 20, 2019. Jake Angeli marches from the Maricopa County Courthouse to the Arizona State Capitol on Friday, September 20, 2019, to demand action on climate change. --Capitol Hill “Coup” Antagonist is Radical Climate Change Activist. --https://thenationalpulse.com/exclusive/capitol-antagonist-climate-change/ -RETRIEVED-Wed Jan 13 2021 00:13:19 GMT+0100 (Central European Standard Time)

Twitter Says Internet Shutdowns ‘Violate Basic Human Rights’ — in Uganda Twitter has spoken out in favor of free speech, and against the shutdown of the Internet — in Uganda. Twitter’s public policy department tweeted in opposition to reported efforts to shut down internet access ahead of Uganda’s election this week, where President Yoweri Museveni is asking voters for a sixth term. He has been in office for 35 years. Last week, Twitter banned President Donald Trump from its platform permanently. It also continues to suspend and expel tens of thousands of Trump supporters. Twitter’s main competitor, Parler, was also kicked off Amazon’s servers. This week, however, Twitter stood up for free speech and the open Internet, arguing that “Access to information and freedom of expression, including the public conversation on Twitter, is never more important than during democratic processes, particularly elections.” Twitter also specifically opposed the blocking of “social media and messaging apps.” Ahead of the Ugandan election, we're hearing reports that Internet service providers are being ordered to block social media and messaging apps. We strongly condemn internet shutdowns – they are hugely harmful, violate basic human rights and the principles of the #OpenInternet. — Twitter Public Policy (@Policy) January 12, 2021 Access to information and freedom of expression, including the public conversation on Twitter, is never more important than during democratic processes, particularly elections.#UgandaDecides2021 #KeepItOn — Twitter Public Policy (@Policy) January 12, 2021 Before the November 2020 election, Twitter censored a New York Post story that exposed emails from the laptop of Hunter Biden, son of President-elect Joe Biden. Other emails also described the Biden family’s attempt to start a joint venture with a Chinese company, in which Joe Biden — the “big guy” — was to have received a 10% stake. --Twitter Says Internet Shutdowns 'Violate Basic Human Rights' -- in Uganda --https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2021/01/12/twitter-strongly-condemns-internet-shutdowns-in-uganda/ -RETRIEVED-Tue Jan 12 2021 22:40:59 GMT+0100 (Central European Standard Time)
