Psalm 87: Zion - City of God

Many people are thinking of Christ's first coming today. But the Psalmist, looked forward to the time when the Most High would return and establish the Holy City - Zion. Like the Prophet Isaiah, the Psalmist, anticipated the coming of the Lord to reign and bring salvation to all those who love Zion. This time is yet future, for "In that Day!" the deeds of the Lord God will be known everywhere. And all nations will acknowledge the blessing of being among those who live in the household of the Lord in Zion. Isaiah:12 And in that day you will say: “O Lord, I will praise You; Though You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, and You comfort me. 2 Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’ ” 3 Therefore with joy you will draw water From the wells of salvation. 4 And in that day you will say: “Praise the Lord, call upon His name; Declare His deeds among the peoples, Make mention that His name is exalted. 5 Sing to the Lord, For He has done excellent things; This is known in all the earth. 6 Cry out and shout, O inhabitant of Zion, For great is the Holy One of Israel in your midst!” Psalm 87 He has founded his city on the holy mountain. 2 The Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the other dwellings of Jacob. 3 Glorious things are said of you, city of God: 4 “I will record Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me— Philistia too, and Tyre, along with Cush— and will say, ‘This one was born in Zion.’” 5 Indeed, of Zion it will be said, “This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High himself will establish her.” 6 The Lord will write in the register of the peoples: “This one was born in Zion.” 7 As they make music they will sing, “All my fountains are in you.”

Ben Shapiro gave this address a couple of years ago, but it seemed very apropos today. We have a lot to lose if we do not stand up for our virtues, as well as our rights, for we need both to have a just society. Skip the intro and get down to the heart of the matter. https://youtu.be/n72HNgvvWK8
