From all eternity, before creation, the one reality that has always existed is God. This is a great mystery, because it is so hard for us to think of God having absolutely no beginning, and just being there forever and ever and ever, without anything or anyone making him be there—just absolute reality that everyone of us has to reckon with whether we like it or not. But this ever-living God has not been "alone." He has not been a solitary center of consciousness. There has always been another, who has been one with God in essence and glory, and yet distinct in personhood so that they have had a personal relationship for all eternity. The Bible teaches that this eternal God has always had a perfect image of himself (Colossians 1:15), a perfect radiance of his essence (Hebrews 1:3), a perfect stamp or imprint of his nature (Hebrews 1:3), a perfect form or expression of his glory (Philippians 2:6). We are on the brink of the ineffable here, but perhaps we may dare to say this much: as long as God has been God (eternally) he has been conscious of himself; and the image that he has of himself is so perfect and so complete and so full as to be the living, personal reproduction (or begetting) of himself. And this living, personal image or radiance or form of God is God, namely God the Son. And therefore God the Son is co-eternal with God the Father and equal in essence and glory. The pleasure of God in his Son is pleasure in himself. Since the Son is the image of God and the radiance of God and the form of God, equal with God, and indeed is God, therefore God's delight in the Son is delight in himself. The original, the primal, the deepest, the foundational joy of God is the joy he has in his own perfections as he sees them reflected in the glory of his Son. The Bible speaks of "the glory of God in the face of Christ" (II Corinthians 4:6). From all eternity God had beheld the panorama of his own perfections in the face of his Son. All that he is he sees reflected fully and perfectly in the countenance of his Son. And in this he rejoices with infinite joy.

Smart Dust And Nanobots Are Dangerous Nonotechnology is becoming even more compact and condensed with each passing year. Nanobots are being developed to combat viruses within the human body and airborne microscopic drones the size of a pin are in an early phase of development as well. Small nanobot particles known as smart dust that are capable of detecting any frequency of sound and spectrum of light might be dispersed across the world to monitor people's behavior. This is just as bad as satellites having the full capability to magnify any image on earth and to locate anyone anywhere. Yes, it can be used for good such as search and rescue, but it is bound to be used by forces of evil that will inevitably destroy the identity and dignity of humanity. Now imagine for a moment that these bots could be weaponized. Too many people fear that an engineered virus could be used by a global organization to reduce the human population. I for one, disagree. Even a fast-killing genetically engineered virus would take quite some time to kill a person. Weaponized smart dust, on the other hand, could kill people within minutes. Imagine if a world government hegemony came to power and felt as though the human race was too large in sheer number thus requiring some form of depopulation. War and famine are too messy. Chaos would still ensue if a virus were to be released. Instead, the overseers would simply spray these weaponized smart dust particles over cities and rural areas using benign-looking drones and aircraft. The nanobots would infiltrate billions of people's body organs and bloodstreams where they would remain dormant. All the tyrants would have to do is to simply flick a small switch on a major dashboard control panel to activate the nanobots. Said nanobots would then proceed to disrupt and shut down every major functioning organ in the human body. Imagine billions of people going about their daily lives only to freeze in unison, convulse in pain, and drop dead within a couple minutes. Imagine any political dissidents being assassinated using such methods. Voila, an evil agenda has been completed. This is certainly one of the most terrifying thoughts that plague me every day: the ability to kill billions with the flick of a switch. John Stewart ~ hbh@email.com minds.com/lovejoypeaceforever
