Uganda: Christian Convert Beaten by Muslim Husband, Forced to Drink Pesticide After He Found Her Bibles Umar Kyakulaga, a Muslim man in Uganda who caught his wife in possession of two Bibles — one in English and the other in a tribal language — beat her and forced her to drink pesticide. After finding the Bibles, Kyakulaga asked his wife, Zubeda Nabirye, if she had converted to Christianity. Nabirye told him that she had been reading the Bible in order to compare it to the Quran.
