They are going "Green" the dumb way...

Depending on where you live and what home you own. I'll ask you how many of you have plants in your home or your yards? The answers I'd get would vary greatly from Hundreds to one little cactus on their desk. Now I'll ask the next "Dumb" question. Can you or your pets eat it if you have them? That answer would mostly no or I don't know... The truth is 85% of the plants owned by homeowners and city planners are poisonous to humans and wildlife. 10% are inedible and less them 5% can be raised for food. In some places, 1% are safe to eat. Hmm... that's not a lot, is it? Look at what you plant in your house or yard. The grass is inedible and needs a lot of water to keep green just look at your water bill in the summertime. Another good one for where I live the Rhododendron. Don't get me wrong though, they have beautiful flowers. However, their leaves contain a deadly neurotoxin, which can paralyze your body. Leading to death by asphyxiation, when your diaphragm no longer contracts to let air in and out of your body. Not a fun way to go. This is why most guides on how to grow them need to tell you to wear long sleeves and gloves when pruning them. These are just two examples of thousands. City, cough... cough leaders and business CEOs plant them because they look pretty not because they are useful in any way, shape, or form. They also so plant them in such a way you can see around the corner to turn safely. My state is infamous for that. Oh, and nearly all of then smell like piss when wet. So, we are supposed to take their word for it when it comes to replanting forests or controlling wildfires? I have also seen plans to build skyscrapers with trees on them to "End Climate Change!!!" You'll forgive me if I can't stop laughing. They don't have the first clue about eco anything but want to appear as though they care. Not that I know anything about it either. I like the concept of planting more plants in cities and neighborhoods. In all cases, we need to. Not to end climate change... To serve the needs of Humans and animal life. Climate Change is a normal part of Earth's life cycle, so stop panicking over nothing. First off if you or animals can't eat it, don't plant it. If it smells unpleasant then why are you planting it? If it looks pretty make sure it's safe for people and animals. This stuff should be a no-brainer but these educated morons pay even dumber people to think for them. The food is you, just pick it: Plant Fruit or nut trees for every other tree in the city, building, and parking lot. These trees, for the most part, are seasonal so you won't have to worry too much about rotten fruit falling on the roads all the time. Also, animals and people will pick them to if it's free they'll eat it. You could also set put a small greenhouse to grow other foods as well that could grow year-round. Hire or train framer works to keep these micro crops in good condition. You could also set aside some public land ta make community farms maintained by the community. Some cities have already done this. Not on large scale though. How would pay for all this you ask? For the fruit or nuts tree, I'm not sure, sell them bags I guess... The micro greenhouses, ever hear of a coin dispenser or swiping a card? As for community farms most of the places where I live you can donate to them and they let you pick as much as you need. Grocery store owners will hate me for mentioning any of this. Not talking about it however doesn't mean it's wrong. Start controlled burning and stop developers from building homes into high-risk fire zones: This another no-brainer. When the brush dries out it becomes fuel for the fire, duh!! The Forestry Department has stressed this a million times but to the Green morons out there it's a sin the do such things. Sadly these same fools all voted blue... enough said there. Housing developers also don't seem to get that if you keep clearing forest out then building houses, plant grass, and hedges they burn up like a Roman candle. Putting even more human and animal lives at risk. We need to set up buffers between human homes and forest making sure if it all burns up we aren't toast. Limits need to be made on housing development as well. I'm pissed I had to write that don't but I'm not sure what else to say. Let the Department of Fish and Game do their jobs so they can clear out and burn up the underbrush to, "STOP THE WILDFIRES FROM HAPPENING IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!" Also, nothing grows in an old-growth forest. Wildfire burns up that stuff releasing the trapped nutrients and burns away dying trees clearing a hole for new trees and plant life. I learned this in grade school thirty years ago. Kids are no longer taught this at all. Some adults don't know either. I do blame schools for that and them for not studying this information on their own. I was a gamer teen and I still took the time to learn this. So, now that you know pass it along there is a difference between schooling and education. People who own large tracks of land need to be able to do controlled burning to make sure their lands don't go up in smoke too. adding to the really big fires going on around them. How about someone lobby for that as well... If it stinks to high heaven rip it up and plant something else, why not more flowers?: Lots of these ideas aren't hard to do or think about. most flowering plants long good and smell even better. More of these would make things beautiful in your city or town. However, it would do one more good thing it would help bees the most. Bees are dying, my family raises bees so we have seen this up close. We raise them for honey and to help their shrinking numbers. We have lost dozens of hives. It's sad still we aren't giving up. One thing that causes a good deal of the damage is the lack of flowers for them. Think of it as a buffet that went from serving thousands of types of food, then went to serving maybe ten types of food. This doesn't help them one bit. It limits their nutrition leaving them vulnerable to hive blite and mites. We solve some of our headaches with this by plant a boatload of different flowers in our yard. It has helped. We have fives hives in good health, winter will tell if our experiment works or not. You can do this in cities and towns giving these working ladies some much need variety. Also, your city will smell like roses, not an outhouse. Many followers are even resistant to pollution. Which has been the only excuse I have heard in defense of the piss bushes. Still it, not just flowers that can help, nuts, fruit, vegetables, and bulbs. Would serve more than human needs. Wildlife would benefit as well. Putting Trees on office buildings: This isn't a bad idea not one bit really. It would serve many functions, shade, cleaning the air(though it would negligible.), and it would cause some psychological boosts as well. Humans like plants so plants more. See no-brainer. Now there are two more things putting the tree on buildings and houses. One thing most don't mention is they would cool the cities at night time. Trees and plants respire, meaning they sweat. Get enough of them and the local weather, not climate will slowly change. Meaning a very dry place will become a very wet place over time. But remember if it looks pretty it's toxic. Always plant a tree that produces food or medicine if you can. Plant things you can use to make other things: Also building materials. There are fast-growing trees... well fast grow for tree anyways that can be used for lumber in only four years. Bambo is another consideration on the as well. Reeds can be made into paper. Which even means the bums on the streets can make a home for themselves. However, you choose to consider these crazy ideas put some thought into it. I also kept it simple. K.I.S.S. is a philosophy as much as it is a practice. This would, however, make you more self-reliant which would make you less dependent on the government, wouldn't it? Which isn't a bad thing at all. Build Yourself Today A Better Future... #minds #futurism #cityplanning #architecture #plantlife
