This is a wonderful read.. I love greys so very much, and saddens me, and angers me that after such a long time of maintaining the integrity of the breed, that it is being threatened and demoted to pet type standard for many... That it is somehow a gain to the breed, and cannot see what a loss it is for these wonderful machines. Sighthounds are one of the few groups that have been somehow protected from the fates of other breeds, and working dogs.. They have unique traits that many find hard to deal with, because they are so driven.. So many are going to end up in shelters because of these traits, and people do not understand...Nor will they take the time to find out. I used to have a job doing second or third level IT support for a large corporation. In their infinite wisdom the company limited the access for their desk side support staff. The result of this was that when the problem resolution required advanced workstation changes, a network/server change, or even a re-installation of an application, you would have to call another support team to assist. It was a stupid system, but that isn't really my point. This particular team was staffed by people of varying skill levels. The guy I preferred to deal with was sort of a prick. He was arrogant, a bit of a blow-hard, and well qualified. If you were concise and knew what you were talking about, you could tell him the problem, and your proposed solution, and the issue would be resolved in only a few minutes. Most people avoided dealing with him because of his inherent rudeness. I didn't care though. He was actually fairly civil to me (within his perceived limitations), and he wasn't there to win a popularity contest but to get the job done. I'm not sure why, but I'm reminded the U.S. elections are next week.

They make better friends than most humans, we almost lost this little guy last week. 4 years ago I would be terrified of the Vet’s BILL. This furry friend isn’t mine, he’s a corporate ASSET that protects our other ASSETS from pests, he provides REAL VALUE to the ORGANIZATION (and to me). Now we know how to PROPERLY ACCOUNT for his needs so he can do his job 😉. #ScottDuncanIsAlwaysRight, and because I could drop my EGO to LISTEN; this little guy is going to be just fine. I don’t get why people could think Scott is “mean”, Scott is showing you how to save yourself (and perhaps those you love), he just can’t do it FOR YOU.
