Many raw, leafy greens are high in an anti-nutrient called oxalic acid.
Oxalic acid binds to minerals in your gut, much like phytic acid does.
It can also cause inflamation, kidney stones and exacerbate existing auto-immune conditions.
If you want to add greens to your smoothie, chose those low in oxalates and ferment or steam them first. ☺
