The luxury of living with a comic book/graphic novel fan is that you get an honest assessment of movies and other video productions in terms of how true they are to cannon. You know if the story line has been bastardized, if it is not offered in chronological order, if the recreation has totally missed the tone and intention of the creators, and how the original story line and characters should have been portrayed.
The downside of living with a comic book/graphic novel fan is that you often settle down to watch a video production which is highly rated, only to hear, "No, no, no...I gave it a chance and it's a steaming pile of shit <insert gratuitous observations and deprecatory comments>. If you must watch this crap, kindly do it while I'm asleep."
The other upside of living with a comic book/graphic novel fan, is that you save a lot of time which would otherwise be squandered watching mediocre movies.
