Still recovering from the shows, as one does. If you thought I'd be in any condition to write up a new post for Tues. as scheduled, I'm surprised at you. If you knew or cared there even was such a schedule I'm pretty surprised too. At any rate, instead, here's an opportunity to revisit this post on Fan Art, which you probably didn't see the first time around: https://medium.com/@drankf/fan-art-500072d36e6b I realize looking at this that I'd promised a "part 2" focusing on book-related fan art, and maybe I'll get that together at some point. #quasi-celebrity #minds

Current problem in interplanetary travel: Getting out of the planetary plane. Current attempted solution: Brute force. But no rocket so far is able to reach escape velocity and orbit the sun the other way to the plane. - Proposing a solution: Swinging. Letting rocket's own inertia keep the speed until it starts falling, then turning around and accelerating for a while, and repeat. Proposing a better solution: Swinging behind a planet, to draw acceleration from its gravity, practically accelerating without fuel. Gravitational assist in this way is more complicated than along interplanetary plane where it is simply freefall to the destination. - Space is the next frontier of our flesh civilization, but the #FractalUniverseRevolution is the final frontier for all physics-based lifeforms!
