Another one of those "memory" things from a year ago, when I posted this pic of the reel for the LK 45, the "Love American Style" seven inch and wrote: "...with note from Kevin Army to John Golden reading: "Please cut extra loud and thanks." Like all these tapes, it's something of a miracle that it survived. What didn't survive is the remix of "Love American Style" that we did for the 1997 Big Black Bugs CD comp, along with most of the 90s remixes and a good number of the multi-track tapes from which said remixes were remixed. Which is quite sad, especially in the case of "Love American Style" since the remix is quite a bit better..." What I didn't know when I posted this, but was to learn later when we did the Mtx forever transfers: "Love American Style" was missing, had actually been snipped out of the reel. Presumably it was spliced in to the Side B reel of Milk Milk Lemonade. I was surprised. Might have been a good idea to make a note of that somewhere, yeah? I say presumably spliced in, but to be honest the seven inch sounds quite a bit different than the recording from tape, almost like it could possibly be a slightly different mix. Probably just the mastering. But if not... where's the missing tape? #music #tape #vinyl #songs #minds
