"Background" to the story of Bruce Hay (the "most gullible man in Cambridge") turning a weird story a slightly deeper shade of weird. This Salon piece, written by Hay during the events chronicled in the New Yorker article, blames Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia for wrecking the study of Physics, citing, as an example, one of the people who happened at that precise time to be scamming him in a not-so-delicate game of cat and mouse, if the New Yorker is to be believed. In view of the New Yorker article, it kind of reads like a hostage message, or some sort of attempt at appeasement. https://www.salon.com/2016/02/27/i_thought_i_could_reason_with_antonin_scalia_a_more_naive_young_fool_never_drew_breath/ Original story: https://www.thecut.com/2019/07/bruce-hay-paternity-trap-maria-pia-shuman-mischa-haider.html #uncategorizable #minds

I am fond of St. Christopher not only because his medal has protected me through my travels throughout almost my entire life (and here I am, living proof in my capacity as a person who is not dead); but also because of the tradition that he had a dog head.
