New Audio Player, Token and Chat Updates, Minds+ and Pro News

Here is a recap of some recent updates from Minds that you may have missed:

• 🎵 New Audio Player: You can now create and share audio posts on Minds, including podcasts and music! For full details, check out our release blog.
• 💡 Token Updates: We recently deployed the Minds Token to Base as a new solution to enable more on-chain activity on the Minds platform without the exorbitant fees. Moving to Base has already reduced fees by 100X. You can now Boost, Wire, and Withdraw onchain directly with Base, as well as bridge between Ethereum and Base. We are conducting further analysis on the economics to identify any other areas for improvement and welcome any community feedback. Here is our CTO’s post about this.
• 💬 Pinned Comments: You can now highlight information by pinning comments on your posts for better visibility and adding important context.
• 🖼️ Image Attachments in Chat: Minds+ members can now attach images inside of chat for a better experience.
• 🫵 For You Feed: We’ve fine-tuned the algorithm to deliver more personalized and relevant content based on your tags.
• 📝 PDF Support: PDF documents can now be embedded and viewed in modals using Scribd, offering a smoother way to share and view PDF files.
• ✉️ Improved Email Notifications: Stay on top of your conversations with email alerts for unread messages and top posts from people you subscribe to.
• 📶 RSS Syncing: Minds Pro accounts can now sync any RSS feed to their channel for automatic posting of their content to Minds

Looking ahead, here’s our focus for Q1 in 2025 for you to keep an eye on:

• 📱 Minds Networks: We launched an exciting new product called Minds Networks last year where you can launch your own custom branded social network and community app with the click of a button. It integrates directly with your website and comes with native mobile apps.

• 💬 Chat Improvements: We plan to continue to make improvements to our new native Chat system and welcome community input on features you’d like to see the most.
• ⭐ Minds+ and Pro Improvements: We will continue to make improvements to our paid subscription tiers to continue to improve the products and offer better value and features for upgrading.

We also wanted to inform you that we will be officially sunsetting the Minds Chat Matrix app on March 10, 2025. 

We determined that its architectural limitations prevent us from creating the user experience we needed to make it successful. Additionally, the Element team involved refused to do business with Minds based on our commitment to free speech, which greatly reduces our confidence in their project being any kind of long term solution. We will instead focus our efforts on the new native chat inside of the main Minds app. We encourage you to export any of your messages for safekeeping by March 10, 2025, when the data will be no longer accessible.

Lastly, we will also be increasing the price of Minds+ and Minds Pro beginning on January 31, 2025. 

• Minds+ will increase to $9.99 per month or $96 per year
  • Minds+ members will continue to receive $7 worth of monthly Boost Credits in addition to exclusive content, features, earning opportunities and more
  • Scheduled post functionality will move into Minds+ and Pro
• Minds Pro will increase to $69.99 per month or $696 per year
  • Minds Pro members will continue to receive $50 worth of monthly Boost Credits in addition to all of the Minds+ benefits, and...
  • Members can email [email protected] to claim a free team level Minds Network to launch their own community space on their domain ($50 monthly value and can federate with Minds)
• New customers will start using the new pricing after January 31, 2025
• Existing customers will also start using the new pricing after January 31, 2025 on their next renewal date

While we understand that no one ever wants to see prices go up, we have not increased the price of these products for over five years and have decided it is necessary for our company to keep up with our growing infrastructure and operational costs. 

We will continue to focus our efforts on improving the value of these memberships for our customers and collecting your feedback. These memberships are one of the best ways for the community to support Minds and help cover our costs, and to keep Minds funded and controlled by its community.
