Minds Adds Support For Audio, Podcasts, Music
We are excited to announce that Minds now supports the uploading and playback of any audio file, opening the network up for great new content like music and podcasts.
After researching the Internet audio space, and many years of receiving this feature request from our community, we realized that there is no major global audio app that is open source and incorporating social networking. So we decided to build it :)
As of today’s new update, you can now:
- Listen to audio posts
- Listen to audio posts with app or browser in background
- Download audio posts for offline listening (mobile app only)
- Build a queue of audio posts (mobile app only)
- Upload audio files directly into your posts (premium Minds+ feature, web only)
- Add album art to your audio post (premium Minds+ feature, web only)
- Record audio files directly in your post (premium Minds+ feature, web only)
You can explore what kind of podcasts and music people are uploading on Minds by clicking Audio in the left-hand navigation. We’ve helped some notable creators on Minds who have podcasts get started, but we hope to see many more of you sharing your audio as well!
All of this functionality is also available on the latest release of our mobile app, which you can grab from https://minds.com/mobile or searching the app stores.These features have also been built into our Minds Networks product, where anyone can launch their own white-labeled social networking app.
We have more exciting updates for Minds+, Pro and more coming in Q1, so stay tuned for announcements in the coming months. We will be keeping a close eye on any reports to make sure everything is running smoothly.
