MY EXPERIENTH WIF FAITHBOOK

Around 2007 i registered a Facebook profile. I moved to Johannesburg during the year, looking for work. The free time available was enough to scan all photos from 1996 to 2002, of 20 months' backpacking. Those years, digital cameras were not yet common and all my photos were hard copies. I took the best photos, taken on all the continents, except Australia, and uploaded it to Facebook. I also wrote my profile to reflect my personal interests, paying a lot of attention to it, because of time at hand. My isolation started around 2001. I therefore appreciated the contact, Facebook gave with old friends. It was however not fulfilling in the sense of real social interaction.

At the time my struggle with "the group" was ongoing and during 2008, i decided a hunger strike, could perhaps get attention of authorities, to my problem. The Police could not do anything about my problem, because slander and intimidation by "the group" cannot be controlled by the justice system in South Africa. "So", during the hunger strike, i posted photos of how i changed, to Facebook. I also explained my experiences of the previous 9 years, to show the problem, and also gave my theory, of what happened. For 20 consecutive days and nights i drank only water and two cups of coffee. At first, the search phrase "hunger strike" and word "hungerstrike" worked well on Facebook, and it seemed the strike would get attention. The results of searches made my strike clearly visible. Soon however, it changed, because many Pages with the word hungerstrike started appearing during searches. Effectively, the visibility of my attempt, to focus attention on my problem was cancelled by all the other pages about Hungerstrikes. It was strange, because initially my strike was very visible and then it changed. Whether "the group", who i protested against had an influence, i cannot say, with certainty. If they caused all the pages, which took the attention away from my strike, they certainly were successful. I also contacted most of the large daily newspapers about the hunger strike, but none of them paid any attention to "the individual".

7 Months after the hunger strike i was given the job i wanted at the time, during the same month, i would not have been able to pay my rent. My stint in academia, for the next 8 years started. It was 2009 or 2010 i cancelled my Facebook profile, if i recall correctly, including the Hungerstrike Page. I did not however receive any of the photos and other information from Facebook, like Facebook said. My whole profile and the Hungerstrike Page ended up on a website called ProfileEngine. There it stayed until ProfileEngine deleted all the profiles and donated it.

The Profile Engine has now been donated to the Internet Archive (31st March 2018). (From: http://www.profileengine.com/ on 17 January 2019)

During end 2017 or beginning 2018, i registered another profile at Facebook, primarily to promote a Secular Afrikaans State. My own profile was very minimal because my focus was to advertise my new political ideas. I also formed a page for Divided Party, if i recall correctly. I am not sure about the Divided Party Page because when i think about times of memories, my memories do not make 100% sense. It is not important though. Facebook banned me and made it impossible to access the Secular Afrikaans State and Divided Party Pages. They never gave a reason. The most untoward thing i did, according to me, was befriending a lot of people, proposed by Facebook, i did not know. Then i deleted them as friends, after i promoted the Pages to them. I circumvented the advertising policy of Facebook. They continually advertised their advertising service to me, and i did not make use of. I guess that could be the reason they banned me. Another possible reason could be political and philosophical views. I presume Facebook's philosophy is more in line with utilitarianism, my philosophy called Intequinism opposes.

Facebook, banning me without explaining why, irritated me and because of my previous experience during 2010, i contacted a Tort Lawyer in Washington DC during 2018, by email. They informed me at the time they will not institute a Tort Lawsuit against Facebook. Around the same time profiles at the ProfileEngine website were taken down, leaving an explanation of their view of circumstances, based on their explanation, obviously, against Facebook.
