The Syverenian's religion centers primarily around mysticism. The belief is that there is a thin veil between the material and spiritual realities. The gods are immortal beings that are entirely spiritual, but the physical realm is the manifestation of their words. Whatever the gods speak shall become reality.

The Council of the Gods

The gods themselves are co-equals to each other and gather as a council to decide the stories of the age. Once the convening of the Council ends, the new age begins, and each God says their words putting the agreed upon events into motion.

The Gods

Verovog - God of light and life.
Perovasi - Goddess of the weather and animals; wife of Verogog.
Xernovog - God of darkness and death.
Thenovasi - Goddess of the soil and vegetation; wife of Xernovog
Kyryovog - God of fire and war.
Fyovasi - Goddess of water and fertility; wife of Kyryovog.

The Place of Humans

Humans, in general, are autonomous beings whose role is to master the physical realm. Those who have been giving the gift of prophesy hear the words of the Gods that echo throughout the age. Hearing those words, the prophet's duty is to guide their fellow humans through the events in the most advantageous trajectories.

The Mountain Giants (Ovorganti)

The Syverenians believe that the Mountain Giants are the first humanoids created by the gods, and were the original rulers of the land. Over time, the Ovorganti killed their prophets any time that the Words of the Gods were unpleasing to them. As such, the Gods turned their back on them, and created humans to be the new masters of the physical realm.

When the Ovorganti first encountered humans, they were stricken with lust over the beauty of the women. Many women bore the children of the Ovorganti, but when the gods saw this, they banished the Ovorganti to the depths of the northern mountains. Ever since, the Ovorganti have festered in jealousy of the humans. On occasion, they will cause avalanches to block the entrances of mines and block vital passages through the mountains.

Death, Afterlife, and Ghosts (Dofanti)

It is the belief that as the body decomposes, it slowly fades into the spiritual realm to live in the halls of the gods. Those who lived good lives will feast for all eternity, while those whose lives displeased the gods are bound into servitude until such time that their debts have been repaid.

In some instances, though, the dead are allowed to appear to the living as Dofanti. The Dofanti appear almost as smoke. Not all humans can see Dofanti, only those whose minds split the veil between the realms, such as the prophets. Though, not all people who see the Dofanti can hear the Words of the Gods, but are typically troubled individuals whose prayers have softened the heart of one or more gods. If the god so chooses, a Dofanti will be sent to the troubled individual to give them help.
