Seems that the older members in the Trump cabinet are standing in the way of progress and Trump's own commitment to dealing with social media surveillance and censorship RIGHT NOW. The tech-savvy, Brad Parscale and Donald Trump Jr. support immediate action, knowing full well that inaction against the continued censorship of staunch Trump supporters does nothing to improve Trump's prospects in the 2020.

YOU know better and NOW is your chance to make your views on this issue known to the whole Trump Administration. A petition calling on the White House and Congress to take action to protect free speech in the digital public square has been prepared and has already received almost 125,000 signatures.

The Petition collects signature asserting that:

The President should request that Congress pass legislation prohibiting social media platforms from banning users for First Amendment-protected speech. The power to block lawful content should be in the hands of individual users – not Mark Zuckerberg or Jack Dorsey.

In principle, this is exactly what's needed. In practice, given the apparent, bizarre tendency of Congress, the Senate and the Executive Branch to TRANSPOSE the stated wishes of the electorate, any bill they might devise should be subjected to scrutiny by stakeholders, like currently deplatformed and censored social media content creators and users. These people simply can't be trusted to understand and DO what they're instructed to DO! Regardless, it's still a good idea to sign that petition.
