The personality traits that are strangely becoming more common are generally traits that when someone is a child tend to get stomped out or at the very least are put into check enough so that one the person ventures out into the world they are able to recover from the ego blow that is awaiting them. With the rise of the social media generations these traits not only seem to be more commonplace but they seem to also be reinforced by the positive feedback loop the majority of people create for themselves when using this technology. One of the common ones you find with the left side of the aisle is the teacher complex.

When you hear someone complaining the left using terms like snarky or elitist chances are the person who they are thinking of his someone with the teachers complex. A person who is trapped within this mode of thinking generally goes with the viewpoint that people who may not agree with them is just someone who doesn't understand what the facts are on the subject at hand. With this being the underlying reasoning, all the person assuming the role of a teacher has to do is educate the person on what they consider the reality of things to be.

In keeping with the current trends of narcissism that is growing within the sphere of Western culture, the teacher complex is just another manifestation of the egocentric standards that many are seeming to just accept. In order for someone to have this kind of outlook, the first must have the viewpoint that they are part of an elite crowd. A crowd of people who posse such mental powers that they alone can fill the role of gatekeeper to this sacred knowledge.

The teacher complex is one of the easiest examples of the Luciferian curse or intellect falling in love with itself. Those of the population who end up getting roped in by this generally tend to be people who have spent the majority of their time in the safe halls of academia. With the push to sterilize education and to adopt a world view that seems to keep the development of the person at that of a child, this complex can be one of the more difficult ones to try and deal with.

Dealing with someone like this can be the same as sailing on the ocean during a storm. If someone considers themselves to have superior intellect, any disagreement is going to be viewed as a personal smite against them. Disagreement and contempt are considered to be one and the same. Ignoring them however can prove to be just as troubling as disagreeing with them can be. By holding your tongue in a way you are providing the type of reassurance that someone who has fallen into one of the narcissist complexes is looking for. Instead of it being taken as you no wanting to engage in the conversation it is instead viewed as you agree with them which in a weird way ends up encouraging them more.

On a personal level there is not a whole lot that you are going to be able to besides limiting your contact with the person and as far as your day to day life goes; losing contact with a person suffering from this might end up improving the quality of your life. The real problem with these kinds of people is what they are when you look at the bigger picture of everything. The teacher complex is the shadow side of the shaman. A warped version of the societal role that is aimed at making sure the new generations have the knowledge they need in order to push the culture forward.

The upheavals of the 20th century say many of the foundations that allowed humans to not just survive but to conquer the many dangers that almost wiped out our ancestors. With the shaking of these foundations, a void had been left and many of the problems that we are seeing in modern times stem from the void attempting to be filled. The shaman gave way to the cleric class and with the step away from religion this position has been left open for something that can keep pace with modern times to step in and continue the job.

The part about this new trend that is the most troubling isn't the behavior of the person in question but rather what it is being used for. The population of the Western world is being split back into tribes and the problems that exist within that framework are showing themselves once more. The people who are considering themselves to be the teachers are the fuel being thrown on the fire. The more one side gets populated by these kinds of people the more they grow on the other side. The misguided are creating more misguided and the cycle continues to grow. The only real way that it seems to curb this trend is to reinforce the market place of ideas and not coddle an idea simply because the person promoting the idea belongs to one camp or they are someone you have known for a little bit. Challenging an idea and presenting a case against it not only can take bad ideas and make them disappear but they can also be used to break the curse of intellect that has dug its claws deep into these kinds of people.
