This recipe is a familly heirloom in our cooking legacy! We made them during the fall and winter. Those biscuits are super easy to make and tasty. I would advice to not eat more than 2 at once as they are very heavy and doughy! :)

My granny used to make so much and I had to go give them out as gift to our neighboors and friends. I try to carry out the tradition ...even in cold Swedonia!

Ingredients:

250gr Flour

75gr Sugar

125ml sunflower oil

Cinnamon powder

Mix in a bowl, all the ingredients but the cinnamon, on a baking sheet spread medium to big size balls of the dough. Medium size is better as they take less long to bake and you take less risk to over bake them in the oven.

Oven preheated at 150 degree celsius, let them bake for 4 or 5 mins, then bring up the temperature at 185 degree for 2 to 3 minutes more, making sure they do not get golden on top. Out the oven, give a pinch of cinnamon on top of each montecaos when they are still hot. And wait till they cool down to eat!

Enjoy this very old and simple recipe, most people forget those traditional biscuits which used to be praised from the south of France, Spain and all the way to the African Continent!
