Where I left off yesterday

Yesterday, I used some scrap brass to bend together a crude fuel tank to hold the alcohol for the burners.

I still needed to fashion a fuel cap+ring as well as solder the whole thing together.  I haven't done much silver-soldering before so this was good practice.

Threading a piece of brass and knurling one end
Cutting off the cap
One part down.   Now to make the ring adapter to fit it to the tank

Ring finished.  Took a little bit of tinkering to get the threads to fit properly, but looks good
Silver-soldered the ring to the gas can and drilled a hole.     It took a few iterations with the solder before it could be made watertight
Now we're cooking with isopropyl alcohol
Testing the burner on the model steam boiler
I'll call that a victory :-)     It seems a little slow but it does raise steam.

Overall it came out OK.  The burners at the back have a tendancy to go out, probably from a lack of oxygen.    And I'm not sure the fuel is burning as hot as it should; the shop gets the 'burning isopropyl' smell when it's running.

Also needs a stand of some sort to keep it from falling down, but I'm gonna call it 'good enough for now'.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed it😄
