I'm a prepper without a lot of resources and this gun is roughly $500 new and the 9mm is a little less expensive to shoot than the 45 acp. Plus if you have children or a spouse the 9mm is easier to handle. With a good number of magazines, a stock pile of ammo the RIA 1911 9mm would be about $625 to $750 for most. California residents however our SOL because the state won't let you buy a new one.
