Curly Dock Root Also called Yellow Dock (because of the colour of the root). The root has laxative properties, it is a digestive aid and has anti-inflammatory effects. The seeds, leaves and stalk are also edible with the proper preparation. #foraging

Ummm

So, I knew Trombocino squash could get big, but I somehow feel like I was ill prepared.

For the US based gardeners. This is a company that offers free seeds. Now they aren't entirely free, as you do need to pay for shipping, but if you have an excess of seeds you would want to donate or you want to grab some seeds for low cost, or know someone who wants to start gardening but doesn't gave a big budget, it's a good resource. https://theseedgirl.com/collections/free-garden-seeds-plant-inspired-stickers

Went to grab lunch and had to pause to reflect on how blessed we are. For all the failures and hardships, we still have an entire shelf in the fridge full of homegrown veggies. Something I hope continues through at least October!

Re minding

So here's what's up in the thumb of the MItten. 2 grape vines have virtually no grapes and the apples were few and small. Surprising cuz we had such a wet couple months we were relieved to get the hay off! But now we have had no rain for weeks. Still a handful of cherry tomatoes...See more

Finally getting a bit of rain and the bell peppers (collected from a store bought pepper) are finally happy. The first crop of seedlings were eaten by a critter so these got a late start.

Yesterday's Pepper Haul Thinking about harvesting the rest of our carrots today. What is everybody pulling out of their garden now? #harvest24

And looks like I forgot to post this to group.

Surprise Pumpkin

I was checking on my pumpkin vibes today and found this. Now I have been monitoring my pumpkins, so I have no idea how this snuck up on me. I may possibly need to take all the nasty things I said about my pumpkin plants back 😂

Luffas

I'm feeling like my garden is a squash forest right now. For the luffas, I have I think 9 large fruit. I hit my head on these all the time. I mean ALL the time. I'm worried they aren't going to dry though, and I'd actually really prefer not to grow these every year, they take up a lot of space.

Trombocino Progress

On the right is the original picture I took on the 15th, and on the left is a picture I just took. So, not even a full four days later, as one is from the morning and the other from late afternoon. So, it went from being about the size of my hand to longer than my forearm in less than five days. Kinda crazy. I've got two more coming in too.
