The Garden Menace

Not the best picture but there is my garden menace, Bertha. Consumer of pea shoots and seeds, creator of random tree sprout stashes, and grand hole digger extraordinaire.

Collards

The collards I planted last autumn are mostly bolting, so I finally went and picked most of the larger leaves off the one plant for dinner last night. Been harvesting chives from the garden, but it was the first real meal from the garden for 2026.

Attempting Bribery

And other interesting things in the garden. Yes, I resorted to getting a bench feeder to try to keep Bertha out of my last attempt at sowing peas. Also figured I'd show some things from my deep shade garden including columbines, ramps, and native ginger (which is flowering).

April Blooms - Frost Warning

It was unseasonably hot the past week, and now there is a cold front moving with frost warnings and the possibility of snow. So, I'll be dragging a bunch of plants in tonight. April is being her unpredictable self.
