Ok, here we go... The general argument your making seems to take issue with the %97 consensus in the worlds climate scientists that outlets such as MSM continually makes. I really like your "Quotes to set the Tone" lead-in. Priming your audience is truly a powerful rhetorical device, and your application was pretty darn good I must say.
You chose well for your first quote because he lamented a truism reflecting in full upside-down world fashion, the lack in a premise of scientific consensus that is quite correct in my mind. His argument, especially the way it's been framed by the choice of a quote leaves little wiggle room for disagreement. That the full quote is a bit more nuanced and open to criticism changes my mind not at all.
So moving on, to… well nowhere... nope never mind, this is the last partially accurate aspect of your argument. I agree that was valid to be sure. If your a scientist working in the cutting edge of your specific field. Or nope your arguments valid to a point that I feel a unanimous call to action the kind we have had for decades with climate change supplants this idea because it is not science to communicate urgency. That is the prerogative of journalists and politicians.
I haven't decided if I should just eviscerate your propagandized piece all the way or give you the opportunity to edit and perhaps even have a conversation regarding this.
