Bright spot in the darkness!
No need to write science fiction as we already live it. Currently a new coronavirus is haunting the world. As I write this it seems the worst is already over in 武汉市 -the city of origin, while large parts of the rest of the world is in shutdown mode, trying to slow the spread of the disease.
I don't know much about the virus per se but from what I gather it seems unpleasant. It's hard to avoid in the long run but later is probably better than sooner becase we'll know more about how to fight it as time goes by. Easier said than done.
All this is very bad and if the shutdowns continue much longer a lot of jobs will also be destroyed. Sooner or later the shutdowns have to end or we will all be not only ill but also poor. For now the shutdowns are probably necessary so we just have to grin and bear it.
The bright spot? At least in my Stockholm spaghetti and toilet paper is back in the stores again. For awhile the hoarders had emptied the shelves but now everything is available.
Oh, and I don't want to become an astronaut any more. Earth is mostly cozy and the Moon is a harsh mistress.
