The Brave Browser (A Guideline From a Regular User)

I doubt that you haven’t heard about the Brave browser yet...

However, in this post I’ll share my views on it, and my experience with it.

The first thing you have to know is that once I’ve found out about Brave, I’ve forgotten about any other browsers.

That’s how good it is!

Why Brave?

The main benefit of the Brave browser is that it takes advantage of the blockchain technology, and perfectly implements it into its reward system.

Brave is rewarding you for viewing “special” ads, while at the same time is blocking the thousands of scripts, trackers, on-page ads, and all the other things that are slowing down your browsing experience.

It also gives you the opportunity to tip content creators, and to be tipped by others.

Brave is even giving you rewards for seeing sponsored images on your main page.

All of this is possible thanks to the Brave’s native token, which is the Basic Attention Token, or BAT.

Not only you can use it for tipping content creators, but you can also withdraw it to a wallet, and then exchange it for some money.

How is the experience with Brave?

First of all, it’s way faster than all the other browsers I’ve ever tried (and those are a lot).

It uses way less of your computer resources, therefore it’s easier to have a lot other tasks opened at the same time.

It’s interface is way more appealing to me, and I always have a smooth experience using it.

You can still install all of the extensions you’d like to add to it.

And you can easily change it’s options and appearance, just the way you’d like them to be.

Some of those are put on the Brave’s starting screen.

As you can see, I’m using the dark mode.

However, you can always choose the appearance you like the most.

Simply, go to Settings → Appearance, and choose your preferences with a single click of a button.

Brave rewards...

So, to be eligible to receive these rewards, you will need to click a button (or two).

Go to Settings → Brave Rewards, and you will be prompted to create a wallet.

This is where you will be receiving your BAT every single month.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!

You will see 24 random words on your screen…

WRITE THOSE DOWN!

On paper, on a text document, or wherever you thing they will be safe.

SECURE THESE WORDS VERY WELL!

On a flash drive, or in your secret box at home… Just be sure that they are in a safe place.

This is called your “seed” phrase.

This is how you will be able to recover your wallet.

In case something happens with your Brave installation, or you change your computer, but you want to continue using the same browser you have been using, you will need that phrase to recover your wallet.

Otherwise, you will have to create a new one, and you will lose all of your current earnings.

The next step is to simply toggle the button on, and activate your brave rewards.

Then, set up how many ads you’d like to see per hour.

Brave has even added the possibility to connect your other crypto wallets, so you can easily access them through the browser’s interface.

Personally, I’m not using this option just yet, but I might take advantage of it some day.

An excellent addition to the Brave browser…

The last thing that you might be interested in seeing here is an extension.

This extension is for the decentralized search engine, called Presearch.

To put it briefly, it’s a new search engine that gives you rewards for your internet searches.

It simply is Google’s worst nightmare.

Of course, if you are not familiar with it yet, it could be a bit confusing for you to start using it, so I’ve written a whole post about it.

So, how to add Presearch to Brave?

This is super easy to do too.

Go to Settings → Extensions → Get More Extensions.

A new window will open (chrome web store), and you just need to make a search for “Presearch”.

Now, you will have two options to choose from...

To make your starting page Presearch, or to make your search bar using Presearch.

I’ve chosen the search bar (you can see in the image a little green “added” button), so I can take advantage of Brave’s sponsored images, showing in my main window.

And every search I’m making through the search bar.

Now, go download these great tools and start earning crypto for the things you are doing anyway.
