Electricity was seen to exist since when amber and fur was rubbed together by the ancient Greeks, resulting in the output of static electricity.
The 1st remarkable achievement in this field was by Alessandro Volta, an Italian physicist, who developed the first circuit in 1800. Also, he showed that a circuit should be closed, or complete, in order for electricity circulate through it. Science fair experiments can be conducted using circuits that relate this principle.
Volta's student, Georg Simon Ohm, made the next discovery in 1826. He observed that some materials did not allow electricity to feed freely. Quite simply, they resisted the flowing of electricity through them. This resistance of an circuit is measured by way of a unit called ohms and it is abbreviated by the Greek letter omega (?).
Things allow electricity to go through them whereas others do not let it to advance so well. Those materials which allow electricity to go through choices referred to as conductive materials. Those materials that resist the passage of electricity through choices called insulators. The resistance of conductive materials are low whereas the resistance of insulators is high. We can use copper wire being a conductor and plastic coating as a possible insulator.
