All right, everyone, gather round. It's time for Journal Entry #7 in my RPG Gaming Quest. This time, for Icewind Dale II, the P.O.V. will be from the standpoint of Terrax of Thay, a sorcerer. (Author's note: There will be an A-Team reference in here.)

Ah, I love it when a plan comes together! And what a plan it was I came up with! No sooner did we break camp then we came across that other male Remorhaz. While I let the idiot Paladin Brannon play bait, I had Brianna the Monk run to where we killed the first Remorhaz and swipe an amulet which turned out to be an Aurilite holy symbol. She opened a nearby door I had heard voices from when we first arrived. Good thing my mother, Vanya, taught me to hone my hearing with those blindfold tests back in Thay. I always say let brave fools go first while the intelligent come up behind to reap the benefits. Unfortunately, it seemed the Doom Guards who had been previously neutral to our actions took exception to us having the Aurilite symbol. We ended up having to deal with them. Gnats!
Meanwhile, Brannon took the male Remorhaz through the door Brianna had opened…and that's where my plan worked out in a delicious fashion! Granted the Paladin got burnt in the effort, but it was a small price for my Illustrious leader to pay for the plan to work! The Remorhaz Queen was indeed in her mating season! And she reacted to the male...exactly as I had anticipated! She did a fiery mating dance which burnt the Aurilites and the barrier behind them to the ground!

Next up is where things got a little hairy. We fought a couple of Cult of the Dragon Necromancers. I know enough about them to be grateful they didn't have a Dracolich with them. If they had it would've been a very painful demise for us indeed. In the course of the fight another of those blasted crystal golems decided to stroll in, and gave me a rather nasty wound. I ended up, much to my chagrin, having to flee. Thankfully, once the Necromancers were dealt with, Garrett and Brianna eliminated that Crystal Golem while Brannon took the brunt of the thing's blows. Again, let brave fools go where the intelligent are wary to go!

Then we dealt with another Remorhaz..and when the thing died that's when a gnomish cleric of Baervan Wildwanderer and Illusionist name of Zack Boysenberry managed to get out. A fortuitous moment as I had some useless scrolls I'd been meaning to sell for money. The party also bought some useful magical artifacts for the Thief and the Cleric. I have an appreciation for merchants no matter where they come from. We also reunited Zach with his mount...a giant wooly spider. Unorthodox, I admit, but useful. We then had the illusionist open up a door for us into the back of that giant Ice Temple we had seen from the Western Pass.

The decision of Brannon's to go in through the back door, I must reluctantly admit, is a wise notion. This is one time where going in through the front door might not be the best option! We'll be making our next move in the morning. Yet I have this feeling that some of my family's past will be in this temple. When one is the son of two of those who slew the demon Belhifet, among others, it's stands to reason a family's past will eventually catch up. Oh well, bring on Belhifet's Legacy I say! I will take great pleasure in eliminating it so my family can continue it[s own quest to become one of the most powerful families in all of Thay...by all means necessary!
