Darkness is a fascinating thing. Because we cannot see much in it and we cannot control what might be lurking in it, many people tend to fear it. I would certainly not walk in a forest in the dark, or any dense wooded area. Yet many people have no such fears and treat the darkness just as the light.
The most interesting aspect of this is that blind people do not know the difference and so cope admirably, wherever they are. So in this instance, it is the imagination that leads to our fear and nothing else. At such times, we feel rather vulnerable because of our thoughts relating to all kinds of negative possibilities while we are alone in the dark, regardless of the actual reality.
So, how do you react to the dark? Good or bad?
For me it depends on how dark it is and where I am. I love to walk around in the darkness at home, seldom turing on lights for any quick task. But I do feel fearful if I am out anywhere and it is pitch dark.
