Buddhist stupa in the Cserhat Mountains

The smallest Buddhist stupa in Hungary stands on a small hill above Becske village between Cserhát hills. Becske is 75 km far from Budapest. The stupa was built in 2008 in nine weeks.

It is a nine-meter-high rectangular sculpture, representing the Buddha's enlightenment. In the upper part of the stupa there is a gilded, sitting Buddha statue. On the hill behind the building you can see many prayer flags.

The stupa on the Csiga hill can be accessed from the parking lot at the end of Sándor Petőfi street, on a narrow, paved serpentine road.

The stupa is open to anyone every day.
