The Aston Martin V12 Vantage V600 is a way to end on a bombshell!!

Using the 1998 Aston Martin Vantage V600 as inspiration for their final 2003-2017 Vantage Aston Martin's Q division will produce 14 customer-commissioned V12 Vantage Coupe and Convertible variants.

If anyone is wondering the Vantage still exists using a new chassis called VH Generation 4. We are giving a swan song to the VH Generation 2 which, this car utilises.

Aston Martin is entering a new chapter in which, the V12 will be extinct similarly to the polar bear so, will the manual gearbox. Aston Martin is turning a new leaf where V8's, hybrids and electric engines will be the next step with the DB11, Vantage (2018) plus, the Lagonda brand.

What makes the Aston Martin Vantage V12 V600 different from the standard edition is its utilisation of carbon fibre production techniques secondly, the bizarre AMR single-like grill thirdly, its flared out front splitter fourthly, the rear arches have widened, leading to a new rear bumper integrating quad exhaust tips.

Also, other differences include reshaped opening headlights, a new bonnet which swaps out the slats for new geometric punctuations (which the Aston Martin DB10 utilises) and finally the side intakes have been re-imagined to copy of the current Vantage.

Lucky for us Aston Martin has been kind enough to give us more power, specifically 592BHP!! The V600 is going back to it's of the 20-year-old V8 Vantage N600. The Vantage V12 V600 is 82BHP more than the original V12 Vantage. To put that into perspective the Vantage V600 ate a 2018 Ford Fiesta.

Fittingly, the 2018 Vantage V600 almost shares identical claimed straight-line performance figures to its spiritual forebear. That car featured a 600bhp twin-supercharged V8 engine that can reach 60mph in 3.9sec and 200mph top speed.

According to an Aston Martin spokesman, the Vantage V600 will vary in price thanks to customisation at hand, so the price will only be discussed on application. Know that this car is a special edition selling seven convertibles and seven coupes, the Vantage V600 will cost £137,000 upwards, exponentially than the standard Vantage V12.

My two cents

What infuriates me about this car is the bizarre front grill and bonnet. Why do you not like the front grill? Firstly, the single-like front grill design does not fit within the design language of this car. I would love this car revert back to the original grill or choose the DB10 one.

Secondly the bonnet, the new hood is trying to blend the old Vantage, the spectacular DB10 hood and the repugnant 2018 Vantage hood. In my opinion, the Vantage V600 should have chosen the Vantage 2003-2017 and the DB10.

In my opinion, the Aston Martin Vantage V600 should have been a hybrid between the Vantage 2003-2017 and the DB10.

Other than those issues this car is astounding or a bombshell. Firstly, the flared front splitter gives the auto a sporty but, relaxed stance secondly, its front lights; it blends within the car's physique superbly thirdly, the rear-end especially, diffuser and exhausts because,  Why not? And last but, not least the power output, for that medium-large it sure packs a PUNCH!!

At the moment in the automotive industry, there are two classes, new and old. At the moment, these classes live together seamlessly. In the next ten years, no. But, the classic category is still holding on with its final breath. No more nice cracks, bangs and the occasional fire coming out the exhaust. Now, we've got glorified vacuums on the road making no sound.

I expect that will change in the next few years with a genius programming engine noises for your car (if that's possible) but, at the moment it's looking bleak.

If that problem is solved, we will still miss the most quintessential part of the car, the gear. Shifting the stick is an art form within itself. When getting a shift right, it makes you feel epic. Just as grinding in Forza Horizon 1 did for me. I wanted the Dodge Viper so, I raced, drifted and pulled any tricks in my magician hat. It was tough but, finally, I was over the moon when I obtained the Viper. With an electric car, you don't get satisfaction.

In a nutshell, you get advantages and disadvantages. I haven't named any advantages but, that's for another article. This car is the same; it has the benefits of oldish Vantage while blending the new carbon fibre construction methods with the hideous bonnet.

What are thoughts on the Aston Martin Vantage V600? Do you love the sound of a V12 or do you believe this car competes with the Volkswagen Toureg regarding ugliness? Please tell me in the comments below and On That Bombshell goodnight!!
