Questionable News Sources

Have you ever wondered who, or what are the sources of the reports alleging Syrian government chemical weapon attacks against Syrian citizens?

Since there are no independent Western media on the ground in the alleged attack zones, the information must come from somewhere.

It turns out that the main stream Western media news, and even the U.N. itself, get their information from two groups - the infamous 'White Helmets', and the Syrian American Medical Society or SAMS.

The White Helmets

Who are the White Helmets? Ostensibly, they are an independent Syrian civil defense force, working on humanitarian needs. However, the truth seems to be somewhat darker.

Independent Canadian journalist Eva Bartlett has extensive on the ground experience reporting from the Middle East. She has been to war zones in Syria at least six times, and is probably the most knowledgable journalist on the subject of Syria.

Here is her opinion on the White Helmets -

The White Helmets were founded by ex - British army officer and current mercenary James Le Mesurier. He has a history of showing up in fragile conflict zones. 'Coincidentally' he seems to end up associated with western-backed groups associated with regime change in these countries, including Syria.

The White Helmets are an anti-Assad group. Many or most of their members are accused of being rebels / terrorists, playing the role of humanitarians only when the cameras are around.

Hollywood, the entertainment arm of the military-industrial complex, even awarded an Oscar to a documentary on The White Helmets.

Here is an informative article from Disobedient Media exposing the White Helmets as terrorists. Read

So that is one source of the reports of chemical weapons attacks - a mercenary founded, western-backed,  anti-Assad rebel/terrorist group.

The Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS)

SAMS was founded in the U.S. in 1998 by physicians of Syrian descent. It's stated mission is to provide medical and humanitarian aid to Syrian civilians in distress. Read Wiki

However, in subsequent years, and especially since 2011, it has been accused of having the ulterior motive of regime change in Syria. It is aligned with anti-Assad forces, and has been accused of assisting terrorist groups.

It also happens to be one of the main sources for Western media for 'news' about alleged Syrian government chemical attacks.

According to TruthDig:

"Reports on unproven allegations of a chemical attack in Douma, the Syria city formerly occupied by the Army of Islam insurgent group, invariably rely on a key source: The Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS). Together with the White Helmets, SAMS has been cited by the Washington Post, New York Times, CNN and virtually every Western media organization reporting on the incident. In Douma, SAMS staff have claimed that they treated more than 500 people for symptoms “indicative of exposure to a chemical agent.” Source

For an expose about how SAMS is selling Syrian regime change to the U.S. and other Western governments read Here.

Conclusions?

Virtually all the reports reaching the West about alleged Syrian government chemical attacks on civilians, come from just two sources. And those two sources are vehemently anti-Assad and pro-regime change. There is strong evidence these two organizations support and assist rebels / terrorists.

It seems obvious that they have an agenda, and are the main sources of false anti-Assad propaganda.

Are we really going to believe main stream news media anymore? And are we really going to allow ourselves to be dragged into another foreign war based on false premises and fake news propaganda?

I think Eva Bartlett sums up what is going on in Syria best -
